About Sakeenah

Sakeenah ( سَكِينَة — tranquility) is an audio-first home for Islamic content: Quran recitation, calm nasheeds, lectures and daily adhkar.

It exists for a simple reason: the apps we turn to for this content are usually video or social platforms built to maximize screen time. You open them for one recitation and surface an hour later from a feed you never chose. Sakeenah is the opposite of that — no video, no infinite feed, no algorithmic rabbit holes. You choose what to listen to, you listen, and you put the phone down.

Browsing is intentional: categories, search, and your own playlists. Playback is audio-only, with a calm player that includes the things listeners actually need — reciter switching for any surah, a sleep timer for night listening, offline downloads, and playback speed — and nothing designed to hook you.

Sakeenah is a solo-built project, created with the intention (niyyah) of less screen time and more sukoon for whoever uses it.
